My final photo from March and it is a sad one. In the UK September signals the start of a new academic year, but in Japan April does. Therefore, this being the end of March means it is time to bring out the tissues and say goodbye to loved ones.
These 2 people had a big effect on my life in Kyoto and I will always think of them dearly, although I know I will see them again in the future. Firstly, my housemate Andrew. I won’t say too much about him as although this was a goodbye party he didn’t actually leave for a while longer and he is going to crop up again in later pictures. However he deserves this build up for when it is his final picture soon.
The second person is Taka. He worked at Bukkyo University and I taught him English once a week at cafe Frosch. He was the perfect student. He worked hard, asked me questions when he didn’t understand, challenged my opinions and never fell asleep once in class. I only hope that if I ever teach again that I can have a class of Takas. I wish him and his family all the best and hopefully I will see him again soon.
